Relief Community Disability Worker (2 Positions)
Springboard Centre for Adults with Disabilities (SBC) currently operates as a non-profit day program providing services for individuals with moderate to severe developmental disabilities, with the primary goal of empowering them to achieve meaning in their lives. These individuals may also display mild to moderate behavioral challenges. A wide range of on-site and community opportunities are offered to enhance each client’s physical, emotional, and mental well-being through personal development, community interaction, sensory integration, communication, and other age-related programming. The agency is committed to serving as a community model and sector partner for the integration, acceptance, and empowerment of people with disabilities.
The Relief Community Disability Services Worker (RCDSW) position is a part-time front-line community disability services role. Relief staff have a responsibility to support and facilitate the development of skills and competencies that will assist persons with disabilities to pursue and fulfill their goals, objectives and aspirations. Relief staff will be shadowing with an experienced staff member for the first week of employment and will then be assigned to work with individuals after that period. Relief staff will participate in the daily training activities at Springboard Centre.
